The opening of Parma Capitale 2020 will last 3 days, from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 January 2020 with a series of events, exhibitions and concerts spread throughout the city.
It starts on Saturday 11 January with the inauguration of “Noi, il cibo, il nostro Pianeta: Alimentiamo un futuro sostenibile” exhibition organized by the Barilla foundation with an interesting interactive journey on the theme of food.
From the historic center departing from the Ducal Park there will be a large parade with the representations of all the cities of Italy that will bring the “words of culture” into the procession, crossing via D’Azeglio with arrival in Piazza Garibaldi for the ideal delivery of the ” words “in the Town Hall.
Sunday, January 12 there will be a series of literary meetings including the participation of the writer Gianrico Carofiglio and cultural initiatives throughout the city.
In the afternoon at the Teatro Regio there will be the institutional ceremony with the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. Following the official opening of the “Time machine. Vedere e sperimentare il tempo” at the Governor’s Palace.
Monday 13 January, the day of Sant’Ilario protector of the city of Parma, will be dedicated to the “Viaggio nella città d’oro”, where museums and other places of art will be transformed into theaters with narrations of unusual stories, poems and concerts spread in different places in the city.
Nel pomeriggio si aprirà la mostra “Parma è la Gazzetta” a Palazzo Pigorini e la giornata si concluderà alle 21 con la “Petite Messe Solennelle” di Gioachino Rossini eseguita da Ars Cantica Choir Società dei Concerti nella Cattedrale di Parma: il Duomo.
